报告人简介：Dr. Jacques Samarut, A former President of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Jacques Samarut is the cofounder of JoRISS, which developed under his co-leadership until June 2014. Jacques Samarut remains highly involved with the institute through his active scientific collaboration with ECNU and ENS de Lyon. Presently a Professor of molecular biology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University Claude Bernard of Lyon, he also heads the research team Functional Genomics of Nuclear Receptors at the Institut de Génétique Fonctionnelle de Lyon of ENS de Lyon and he is an Honorary Professor as well as a High Profile Expert at ECNU. An internationally renowned expert in the area of functional genomics with more than original160, his research work generated several patents and contributed to the creation of two biotech companies (Genoway, Vivalis). Beyond the Presidency of ENS de Lyon, Jacques Samarut also held many important academic responsibilities in the course of his career, most notably the position of Director of the Life Sciences Division of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique and President of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique. He received several awards, including the Leukemia award of the French League against Cancer (1987) and the Rosen Award Foundation for Medical Research, Paris (1990), as well as the silver medal of the CNRS (1997) for his work on the role of oncogenes and nuclear receptors in oncogenic transformation. He was honored as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur and Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
